. . . . . Poseidon Chase .is an attraction proposal I designed for Disney's
Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, where guests tour the facilities
of an unscrupulous marine testing facility and are then mysteriously
plunged into an underwater world, where they are called by Poseidon
to face charges of mankind's mistreatment of the seas. The guests
are able to escape Poseidon's lair, but are later recaptured
by the Loch Ness Monster, who brings them back for trial. As
the trial is about to start, the same sonar testing which has
made Poseidon so angry, starts up again, causing an earthquake
in the undersea palace and enabling the guests to escape once
again. Using a good amount of humor, the attraction provides
guests a sensational ride experience, suitable for the whole
family (though the little ones may be scared), all the while
showing the guests, without being too "preachy," just
how fragile the oceans really are.
