JUDGEMENT HALL

As the guests splash-down into the Judgement Hall from Nessie's throat, many of them will turn around for a last look at the Loch Ness Monster. Her head and neck will be there, as a large, static set decoration covering the actual entrance to the Hall, with the rest of her body painted on the wall behind. The illusion of a full figure will be achieved by a combination of low lighting on the painting of Nessie and by strong lighting shining on the guests from behind Nessie's head.

The Judgement Hall is an underwater grotto shaped like a long corridor. The sounds of rhythmic drum beats echo through the coral walls causing the guests to feel like they're walking down Death Row. At the far end of the corridor stands Poseidon, high on a ledge, giving his case to the jury of elders who sit in two rows of six, one on each side of the corridor, also on a ledge overlooking the guests. The jury members are limited-animation figures who stare in judgement at the passing guests below, perhaps giving an occasional scowl, a nod of the head, a blink of the eye or even a whisper to another jury member. The boats slowly sail towards Poseidon as he gives his speech:

. . . . . . . . . . POSEIDON
. . . . . .(sternly)
Land dwellers, you are hereby sentenced, for sending down your thunderous sound waves over my kingdom and unleashing death and destruction upon my subjects, to meet your fate in my personal conservatory. I view your actions as a deliberate act of WAR upon a peaceful and defenseless society!
. . . . . .(sad, to jury)
Imagine my sadness, O' wise ones, upon awakening from a centuries-old slumber to see my subjects, my loved ones, reeling in terror, unable to escape the deafening sonic terror unleashed upon them by uncaring and unscrupulous mortals! The beauty of my domain, the glorious Nereid choirs evolving the intricate bright circle of their dancing feet! Shall we sit back and watch as it becomes a muck-filled wasteland at the hands of the fools who worship us no longer?!? It sickens me, O' wise ones; the state of the oceans I return to.

As the boats reach the end of the corridor, directly under Poseidon, they turn to the side and enter the next scene...

CONSERVATORY / ESCAPE

In this room the guests pass by many giant "Monster Plants," resembling giant Venus Fly Traps. They all stand still in their own, separate areas. Wreckage of wooden rafts and Poseidon/Chase tour boats lie around them. One of the plants holds a Poseidon/Chase boat ("Dummy Boat #2 - filled with limited-animation figures) above it's mouth in it's vine-like, leafy "hands." The "guests" in the boat are screaming for help as the plant shakes it from side to side, trying to make them fall into it's mouth.

The guests' boats turn another corner and come face to face with another Monster Plant, it's mouth open wide and it's arms outstretched, ready to gobble the guests up. Suddenly, the sounds of the sonar experiment can be heard, growing from a distant noise to a tremendous racket. The walls of the grotto begin to shake and crumble as if in a tremendous earthquake. A hole is opened in the wall to the side of the plant by the shaking. The boats sail through it and escape.

SURFACING ROOM

After escaping through the hole in the grotto, the guests find themselves underwater, in the open sea where, with the help of some special effects, they slowly ascend to the surface. Air bubbles whirl around them as they make their way up while the kind voice of Nereus wishes them farewell:

. . . . . . . . . . NEREUS
Yes, flee why you can poor mortals, while I have brought your overseers to you. But I beg you not to forget your adventures of this day. Lord Poseidon is only detained for the moment and his anger and vengeful nature will only grow stronger. While he is a vindictive immortal, heed his words, for they are true. We are a peaceful society, who ask only that you do not destroy us. And in your hearts, I know that you are understanding of our concerns. Farewell to you, dear friends. May the gods grant you prosperity and may my words live on in your hearts and in the hearts of all mortal men!

The boats break the surface and now find themselves in front of a huge Poseidon/Chase rescue ship.

OCEAN SURFACE / RESCUE SHIP

The rescue ship has a large conveyor belt leading from the ocean surface to the inside of the ship. As the guest boats approach and board the belt, a very insincere voice comes over the P.A.:

. . . . . . . . . . ANNOUNCER #2
Ladies and gentlemen we apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered during your tour. If anyone has any friends or family members missing from one of the other boats, please notify the captain at once. On a lighter side, I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that we've just opened our brand new Poseidon/Chase gift shop on the dock; crammed-full with all sorts of Poseidon/Chase souvenirs, keepsakes and personal nuclear devices! Thank you.

UNLOAD AREA / EXIT

The guest boats are led on the conveyor belt inside the ship to the unload area where they disembark. The guests are now free to leave by walking down a short passageway and around a corner where they find themselves on the deck of the ship, opposite side from the attraction. The ship is already docked, leaving the guests free to walk down the gangplank, and into the dock building, which houses the Poseidon/Chase Gift Shop. The gift shop exits outside, next to the attraction entrance.

THE END
