The History section of this web site is very sparse, especially the pages from 1980, onward. With time, these pages will be flushed out with lots of photos, and the sparse text will be replaced with, ah, well - it'll be replaced. The text following 1980 comes directly from Joe Nolte. Hopefully someone out there will be "encouraged" to write me with alternate ideas about the events described...
So I got married at the beginning of '84, with Vitus as best man. I'd
recently talked with Peter Case, who was feeling the same dissatisfaction with
his band, the Plimsouls. We decided to ditch our respective bands temporarily
and do an acoustic show together at McCabe's. We did, got the Williams
Brothers to help out on harmonies, Vitus sat in on flute, and I was able to
coerce brother Mike out of retirement to sing a couple of songs with me.
Peter went on from there to forge a successful solo career - I returned to
what remained of The Last.
John Rosewall finally quit, so I used the opportunity to get both brothers
Dave and Mike back into the fold. It was, however, too little too late.
Vitus and I no longer belonged in the same band, and so my dear brothers got
to experience all the catastrophic bullshit inherent in a sinking ship.
We did less and less satisfying shows during the latter part of '84, and . . .
